Wedding Updates

Ladies...we are officially less than 3 weeks from the big day. I have been cranking out the projects for Sister.

The ribbon bouquet no longer looks like a 4 year old made it. I worked really hard on it! The Bed Bath and Beyond ribbons were my nemesis!

SATC and Bridesmaid bouquets. SATC makes everything more enjoyable. Sister will not be wearing a bird in her hair like Carrie Bradshaw but it will still be gorgeous!

One of the finished products.

Another angle. Let's ignore the pajama shorts on the floor, ok?!

This made the ribbon bouquet process even better. I hadn't seen the movie but I did read the books and I was pretty happy with the movie. How can I wait this long for the next movie? I will probably end up reading them again.

Non-Wedding related topics.

My grandma bought a puppy. She said it was God's will. Seriously. But, how can you resist this little face??

Meet Sophie! I picked her name. I said she looks like a Sophie. Then, we were outside and I called for her and she came running. My grandma nearly cried. Honestly, if I called her dog but said it in a sweet baby voice she would have responded. But, it is the perfect name for her!

Mom is in desperate need of a new iPhone case, it's putting a green frame around everything because it's too stretched out. I'll give her my Lilly when the 5 comes out and I finally get a new phone!

I hope to get a few more product review posts up soon. I've been using some stuff for a while that I would love to discuss. But, we might have to wait until after the wedding. I'm pretty sure I was having an anxiety attack on my way home from work on Monday. Too many things to think about and I have a 50 minute drive so my mind was racing. If I make a list, I feel 500 times better but you can't make a list while driving so I just started fretting over everything. It was bad. Work + Wedding + Replacing a co-worker + A co-worker recovering from surgery (so I'm filling in with some of her duties) + Not having a free weekend until the last weekend in October = Lindsey slightly losing her mind. I love my students. Really, I do. They're awesome. But, the first group of a new year are needy. Lots of questions. Lots of changes. Lots of extra time that I don't have. I'm taking 3 days off for the wedding. I might not return!

I still have an OOTD from last week to share with you. I should do that! I'm also planning to buy my rehearsal dress this weekend. It needs to happen ASAP. An outlet mall sale sounds like the perfect time!

Ladies, I'm trying to stay up to date with your blogs. I miss being informed about your lives! I'm missing my blog friends BIG time. Hell, I haven't seen my IRL friends in what seems like weeks. My cousin emailed me and said I haven't seen you in months. That's a fact. So sad!

Low End or High End

I have made a few purchases lately. A few little things and one I have been dying to buy. If you follow me on Instagram then you probably know!

I love Sephora and high end products as much as the next girl but I CANNOT get enough e.l.f. these days. I'm basically trying anything and everything I can find.

1. e.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set I have been using this for over a week and I really like it. I did my full makeup on Saturday and it definitely stayed in tact. Despite the fact that I'm a sweater. In my opinion, it was well worth the $1!
2. e.l.f. Tinted Moisturizer I think this is a little thick for my liking but I will probably use it when I don't feel like wearing my liquid foundation.
3. L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream I have heard mixed reviews on the Garnier BB Cream that I have been wanting to try. I got this at Target for about $8 and I have to say I really like it. It doesn't dramatically tint your skin but I think it does even it out. My skin feels much softer which I really like. I would like to try some of the more expensive BB Creams so I can compare the quality. I have the Medium tint.
4. e.l.f. Foundation Brush I actually wanted to buy the stipple brush but I couldn't find it at Target. I like this brush but I still want to try the stipple brush before the wedding. It's only $3 and the foundation brush was a $1. So, it's not a big waste!
5. e.l.f Zit Zapper In my constant battle for better skin, I will try anything to get rid of these zits. That means I will even try this $1 zit zapper. I don't have any feedback yet. One of my zits did seem to fade faster but who knows if that is really because of the product or not. I need to use it a bit longer to get a real feel for it.

I randomly picked up these adorbs Guess boots at DSW. They were 70% off which means I got them for $17. I could use some shorter boots. They are similar to my leather Uggs but they are short and not as warm. I can't wait to wear them!

I did it!!! Finally, I bought my MK watch. We stopped at the mall prior to the Bengals game and I walked into Macy's, tried on 3 watches and bought it. It took all of 20 minutes for me to spend $250 but I'm pretty sure I have tried on and searched every watch he makes. It wasn't that difficult to make the decision. I love it and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Happy Wednesday Ladies! I hope you are all having a great week. I'm trying to make it through. I'm looking forward to a weekend with no plans. There will be some wedding DIY for my sister but I don't mind working on projects!

Broken Record?!

I sound like a broken record right now but I hate that I'm slacking so much on the blog front. Last week was totally cray cray. My sister's bachelorette party was this weekend so last week was really hectic and I'm pretty sure all of the stress is why I got sick last Sunday and ended up at the doctor on Tuesday. But, here is a recap of the Bengals game. We had such a good time and a few cocktails.

Tebow Booty!! I have to say, I'm definitely a Bengals fan but he isn't bad to look at!

My little Tebow stalker sneaking in to get a few photos as he headed to the locker room!

I'm so ready for football season. I watched the 2006 OSU/Michigan game on The Big Ten Network Sunday night. I need some OSU football in my life! So, watching the #1 Buckeyes beat the #2 Wolverines will have to get me by for a couple of weeks!

I promise that I have a few things for you this week. I'm even going to write them in advance so they actually get done! So, come back tomorrow for some of my latest purchases!

Friday Night Lights!

The first of many Friday nights spent under the lights watching football is tonight. However, we won't be watching from the stands of our high school field. We'll be here....

Watching these guys

take on this guy.

Our seats are near the visitor's entrance. I have warned Jenn, she cannot get us kicked out of the game for trying to attack Tebow.

I'm bringing my camera. I hope to get some great pictures! Also, it's a high of 73 degrees today and I'm at a total loss as to what to wear. Jenn and I have been texting about it all day. I was fully prepared for shorts and a t shirt. It is August after all! I mean I even packed my short Uggs because it's going to get down to the low 60's tonight and my feet might get cold! AHH!

Side Note: My grandma bought another dress for the wedding last night. If you're keeping count, that's 6 dresses currently hanging in her closet. This does not include the multiple dresses she has already purchased and returned. Apparently this one is her favorite. I'll see it either tomorrow or Sunday and will report back. The woman is out of control!!

I hope you all have a great weekend! If you have a break in the heat like we do, I hope you enjoy it!

I've set a goal...

During a not exactly sober moment in Athens, I made a pact with one of my college besties to run the Cleveland Rock 'n' Roll half marathon in October 2013.

Running a half marathon is one of my bucket list items. I have always thought if I do one, I would like it to be part of the Rock 'n' Roll series because they seem like such a good time. Having a band every mile sounds amazing. I think it will definitely keep the momentum up. So, Jill and I shook on it and now it's happening!

As soon as the wedding is over and my life returns to normal. No more weekend shopping trips to find dresses for my family members. (Seriously, my grandma currently has 5 dresses...FIVE! The woman needs to make a decision it's five weeks away! My sister is grateful that she lives in another state right now.) I will have more free time to focus on my running and I can start picking up the mileage on the weekends. I know Jenn is excited for our long runs again! ;) Maybe someday I will explain all of the crazy things that happened to us during our long runs. They were always entertaining! For instance, we had a face to face encounter with a deer. No one believes us but that thing definitely started following us.

Are any of you marathon or half marathon runners? Have you done a Rock 'n' Roll series before? I would love to hear about your experience!

I'm not in college anymore

I was in Athens for a total of about 22 hours. In those 22 hours I spent 8 of them sleeping. We managed to visit 7 bars. I had Goodfella's pizza...twice. We ran into a large group of guys that we graduated with. They happened to be in town for Bachelor party. It was such a great surprise to see them! I have a few pictures for you. I didn't get my camera out until late in the evening and my phone was dying so there aren't many pictures. Let's hope my girls upload some soon because I think they have some good ones!

Our boys are kind of good looking...

Welcome home. Every Friday afternoon/early evening was spent here Senior year. Progressives and chicken wings.

The College Inn. One of my favorites.

Bestie and her boy. Love them.

I will claim her as my best friend any day! Also, we had a group of highly intoxicated girls behind us. They cheered for Michael Phelps on all 4 legs of the relay. Apparently, he's such a badass that he just does the entire thing himself. Finally, they started chanting USA which was still obnoxious but at least it was more accurate.

We had to show the Romanian an aquarium. A trip to OU isn't complete until you have one.

The Junction has a new owner and it's now called "The J Bar" which is just stupid in our opinion. The place is too clean and bright. I miss the dirty sticky floor, the balcony on the verge of collapsing and their tall glasses. A Junction Punch should not be served in a plastic cup.

Every time we go back something has changed. They closed Skippers. Which was one of our favorite restaurant/bars. It's now a part of Jackie O's which was called O'Hooley's back in our day. The Pigskin is trendy now which is incredibly upsetting. There's a Chipotle...this one I don't hate but it's still different. The Junction is no more...I don't know this J Bar! O'Betty's has a second location with sit down seating. It takes away from the charm of ordering your food thru a small window in an alcove of a building! I would probably still go to the original location! Even with all of the changes, it's still my Happy Place and we're going back in December for Jill's baby brother's 21st birthday shuffle.

I hope you all had a great weekend! It's going to be a long week. I'm pretty exhausted from that whirlwind trip. Oh and Ladies, my hair is now back to normal. Thankfully...no more red/orange hairline!

I got Naked

And by that, I mean I got the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay! I have been drooling over these palettes for years. That is not an exaggeration.

I could never decide which one I wanted but after much deliberation I chose #2. I had a 10% off coupon for Sephora and since this little beauty never goes on sale, I knew it was the perfect opportunity. Am I crazy for spending $50 on eye shadow? Probably! At least I know it's crazy. But, I rationalize it by saying I will share it with the girls while getting ready for my sister's wedding. I'm helping the group!

I also purchased the Michael Kors Leg Shine.

I've read mixed reviews on this but it was only $10 and I had the coupon so might as well try it. I think it could be great for sister's wedding too. Once again, I plan to share!

Lastly, I needed more of my favorite concealer. I'm pretty sure this little container lasted at least a year. Not kidding. That is with all of my breakouts, etc. If you need a good concealer, I highly recommend trying Boi-ing by Benefit. It's $20 but like I said, it will last you a really long time. I use this brush to apply it.

Jenn and I had a very successful shopping trip last weekend. It was probably the fastest Sephora trip of our lives but we knew exactly what we were going for! There was also a stop at the Hustler store for my sister's Bachelorette Party goodies. That was seriously entertaining. I hope the girls are ready for glow in the dark penis straws! :)

It's almost the weekend Ladies! I'm reuniting with a bunch of my college friends in Athens on Saturday. To say I'm excited is the understatement of the year because I love nothing more than hitting the bricks, eating at Bagel Street Deli and Goodfella's pizza and stopping by all of our favorite bars. Ahhh...my Happy Place! Being there with my favorite people makes it that much better!

Such an accomplishment

Ladies, I got great news Monday night. I opened a letter to find that my car is paid off! You're probably wondering why I was so surprised by this. Well, I have my payments automatically withdrawn from my account so I don't really think about it. However, I thought I had another year left on my loan. I was certain that I got a longer loan but I must not have. Ms. Betty is officially mine! It's crazy to think that my first official big girl purchase is mine. Now that I will be adding a couple of hundred dollars to my bank account every month, I've decided to make one splurge purchase.

You know my love for all things Michael Kors. Well, I have been eying a few watches for quite some time. Here's the deal, they are on sale right now for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I feel like I should go ahead and get it if it is going to be $100 cheaper. Am I right? This is where you come in. I like several of them and I want your opinion! I expect feedback in my comments! :)

Michael Kors Lucy Crystal Bezel Bracelet Watch.

Michael Kors Ritz Crystal Index Bracelet Watch.

Michael Kors Cameron Round Bracelet Watch

What are your thoughts Ladies? I value your opinion and I know you won't steer me wrong! I'm going to tell you my initial favorite but don't let it sway you. The Ritz is the first one that caught my eye. Honestly, I would like to see them in person before trying them on because I'm afraid it could be too large on my 3rd grader sized wrists. I might have to hit up the mall before ordering. Have a great Wednesday Dolls! I'm totally beat this week. The new academic year is officially underway. AHH!
