I'm alive...

Ladies, I'm alive. Not totally myself but slowly but surely making my way back. I had my right ear drum reconstructed on the 20th. My ear drum ruptured a few years ago and never fully healed. After years of persistent ear infections and pain, I finally decided to have the surgery I've been putting off. Girls, I'm not kidding I left the surgery with what appeared to be a jock strap around my head. In reality, it was the dressing for my ear but it totally looked like a jock strap. I definitely wasn't expecting something like that! My doctor said 3-4 days and you'll be back at work. Well today is day 8 since the surgery and I'm at work but ready to leave. I just can't handle a full day yet. I've been in quite a bit of pain but the drugs are good! I just can't function on them. I'm hoping to get some decent posts ready for you later this week or let's face it, it probably won't happen until Monday. Seriously though, I have nothing exciting to say because I've been in bed for a week. However, Saved By The Bell is now on Netflix Instant, if that is of any interest to all of you!

We'll chat soon my loves! Oh and the bestie didn't make it by, her precious boy got hurt on the playground and has required a lot of snuggles lately. We'll let her slide!

I wore a lot of green this weekend...

Between the Bobcats game and St. Patty's Day, I wore a lot of green this weekend.

OU game. Such a great time with some of my favorite people on the planet!

Tshirt: Paw Print - Homage.com, Cardigan: J Crew

This was incredibly funny at the time. If someone can tell me why, I would really appreciate it!

Love my best friend more than anything!

For some reason the crowd doesn't seem well depicted in this picture. Promise that we walked into the bar and my drink was spilled all over my shirt within 2 minutes. Well worth it!

We need to live closer to one another. I need more of this in my life!

Shirt: Banana Republic, Tank: Forever 21, Boyfriend Distressed Capris: American Eagle, Handbag: Urban Expressions (via Hautelook), Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson

We went outside and came back to this in our booth. After she nearly fell totally out of the booth, Jank sat her back up. She seemed confused by the entire thing. Pretty sure she would have been more confused if she fell out of that booth.

Since my outfits were basically all green. I figured I would share an OOTD from last week. It's been so warm that I can wear my flip flops in and out of work!

Shirt: New York and Co
Capris: New York and Co
Necklace: Handmade
Flats: Payless
Flip Flops: Kino (from Key West - so cheap and comfy!)

Well Ladies, I am having outpatient surgery on my right ear today. Nothing serious...don't worry! But, I'll be MIA for the next few days. Pain medication and all. The bestie is going to try to check in periodically. I'm sure she'll give you some updates. I'm not allowed to wash my hair for 4 days. Can you imagine?! This is part of the reason I took the remainder of the week off.

Little Brax is having surgery too. That's right, he's losing his manhood and his claws. I know de-clawing can be kind of controversial but he is scaling the curtains. It's not a good thing. He's a little crazy and he will never be outside so he'll be ok! He has his surgery tomorrow and we get to pick him up on Thursday afternoon. Uncle Tyler will be taking him to the vet because I'm sure I'll be in no condition to drive tomorrow at 8 am.

I don't know if I'll check in again this week. So, have a great week/weekend! I'll be watching my Bobcats on Friday! Hopefully, I'll be feeling much better by then.

Well folks...you'll get a weekend recap tomorrow. For now, allow me to show you my love for OHIO UNIVERSITY.

First, there is this...which is from www.ohiobobcats.com and was clearly after we beat that state up north.

This article made me so freaking excited! Michigan will now remember who OHIO is and so will USF.

MY BOYS ARE SWEET SIXTEEN BOUND!!!! Of course they're playing my other favorite team so I'll probably just be screaming at everyone. Typically, my alma mater doesn't leave a lot to cheer for in the post season.

Ok, it's been a long crazy weekend and of course I'm writing this on Sunday night and Monday morning will be coming quickly! I hope you all had a great weekend and great St. Patty's Day!

Friday Favorites

This is the Green and White edition of Friday Favorites! I'm taking an impromptu trip to Cleveland to watch my Bobcats with my favorite Bobcats. Confused?!?! OU plays Michigan tonight at 7:10 pm (not that I have been looking forward to this or anything) and I plan to hang out with my favorite alums while watching our boys beat some Wolverines!

I mean look at how excited they were when they heard the announcement!

On Saturday, we'll be participating in something of this nature...

Day drinking is not something I have done in quite some time. This could be interesting. But, spending time with some of my favorites will be AMAZING. It's rare that a large group of us gets together. It's typically just the usual suspects but this weekend is going to be special and I'm beyond excited. Rennie's response to my text, "OMG, is this actually happening?! Jill called me last night, but I figured it was all talk. I have a huge smile right now. I can't freaking wait!!!" If that doesn't get me pumped for this weekend, nothing will!

I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the Madness and St. Patrick's Day!

Oh Carrie!

Can we just talk about how fabulous Carrie's new video is. I love the song but the video just put it over the edge for me!

So much fashion. So much attitude. Great hair. Can we all have Carrie's body? I mean come on! Is that real life???

Thoughts? Do you love her as much as I do?? I know this is a short post but I'll put more effort into tomorrow's post!

Fashion Round Up

My life has been crazy lately. Cleaning my bedroom needs to happen. I'm ashamed of my closet right now. It was so nice before vacation...now the floor is full of crap again. So, I've been a bit preoccupied and haven't had the time to check out the latest fashion pages. Thanks to E! I still feel in the loop!

Here are some of my favorite looks so far this month. All can be found on InStyle.

Jennifer Lawrence killed it at the Hunger Games premier. Her body is ridiculous. I love her arms and entire back side. Is that strange!?! I kind of want that booty!

Mila looking girly and fabulous at the Christian Dior runway show! I think I need this entire look. I would wear the dress to work and not even care what anyone said because it is that beautiful!

Is Jessica Alba seriously a mother of two? She looks amazing. I need this DVF dress in my closet, yes?!

Love Gwyneth's traveling outfit. If I was boarding a train in Paris, I would hope that I could be found wearing something very similar to this!

Why can't I afford Louis Vuitton? The perfect Spring time yellow. Reese, I love a dress with a little volume on the bottom.

Jessica and Reese both got 2 picks. I'm pretty sure any of us could recreate this look from things in our closet. This will keep me from wondering what I can sell in order to afford her outfit!

This Kate Spade dress has a similar shape to the yellow LV dress above. I feel like Reese is very "girl next door" and this dress really expresses that. It's so cutesy and it reminds me of something Kenley would make on Project Runway All Stars. That girl loves a polka dot print and so do I!

I hope that now that my life is getting back to normal, I will be able to put more effort into this little bloggy! I need more fashion updates, etc. So, I'm going to really try! We're half way thru the week Dolls!

More nail polish?! Why not!

The bestie sent me a picture of this and I can't get it out of my head. I need to make a pit stop at Sephora ASAP.

Betsey Johnson's new colors are AMAZING. I'm kind of dying for that teal and yellow. Don't be surprised if I buy this awesome set this weekend.

I received an email from Sephora asking me to test their new beta site. I have to say the search options are really great! You can select multiple categories to narrow your search down to your specific needs. I'm totally a fan! I went ahead and added a few things to my wish list. As if I need anything else! I will say my fav eye shadow is nearly gone. It's a random Kat Von D duo that I found in a sale bin. Jenn and I each bought it and we wear it A LOT. It's been my go to for months and months. So, when it's gone I'm going to be lost. I will say that the Naked 2 Palette has very similar colors. Will I finally bite the bullet and buy the Naked 2?! We shall see. I'm glad I never bough the original because I think the second one has grown on me and totally surpassed the original.

Have any of you purchased the Naked 2? Or the new Betsey Johnson colors? I would love your opinions!!

Happy Tuesday Ladies! This day is crazy for me but our new admin assistant starts tomorrow (cue the church bells and angels singing). This weekend is St. Patty's Day and my first weekend of freedom...I'm thinking that is more than enough reasons to have some drinks!

(p.s. I'm writing this Monday night, watching The Bachelor...he is totally going to pick Courtney. I took some cough syrup after my hour long coughing fit last night, I'm not risking it again. There's codeine in it. If this post has no mis-spellings and actually makes sense we are in good shape!)

Pedis and Basketball

I got a pedi with my bestie on Saturday. I opted for China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise.

This one might need to be added to my collection. Loving it! It's not something I would normally do on my toes but I figured I would do something different. After the pedi, my mom and I did some research for the bridal shower. Basically, I went around taking pictures of all of things I want to buy. It was a little out of hand. But, I think I'm in good shape!

The rest of my weekend was spent watching basketball. Seriously, I watched a lot of basketball. My Bobcats won the MAC and are playing Michigan in the first round in Nashville. Sister and Nik are going to try to find tickets so they can go. They live about 40 minutes from Nashville and we are proud of our alma mater. Now, don't count our boys out. If you recall, in 2010 we upset Georgetown. It was huge! I would have given ANYTHING to be in Athens that weekend. Our boys looked stocked when they showed them on CBS last night.

The madness is upon us and this is seriously one of my favorites times of the year. Anything can happen and I will for sure be filling out my brackets today! I get a little crazy during March Madness (remember this post??) so I have already updated my app and I'm prepared to watch a lot of basketball over the next 3 weeks.

Did your favorite team make it to the big dance? I'm a UNC fan too so seeing them as a #1 seed makes me happy! The Buckeyes are a solid 2 seed and I can't wait to see how all of this plays out! Happy Monday Ladies! Let's make this a good week.

Friday Favorites

This has been the longest week in history and there is no reason why. Things are actually starting to settle down for me. The new admin assistant starts on the 14th. Is there an emoticon of a person doing cartwheels?!?! I would have those all over this page right now. I'm going to need a few cocktails to celebrate my freedom!

I finally tried this delicious treat and I'm hooked!

I think I want to try the Who Nu? chocolate cookies next! The downfall is the serving size is only 3 cookies. You know I can't stop at 3!

Do you remember when I mentioned this fabulous product here? Well I've been using it for several weeks now and I'm totally hooked. I think it's really helping my split ends. I don't see nearly as many and my hair is incredibly soft and smooth. I would definitely recommend it!

I'm sitting in a computer lab, proctoring exams and reading a book. I'm pretty excited for the break. After a long week it's nice to just do nothing. I have a date with the bestie tomorrow morning for pedis. I'm so excited! My feet need a little attention that's for sure! Have a great weekend Ladies!

Bridal Shower Inspiration

I started planning my sister's Bridal Shower. She said she wanted some kind of outdoor barbecue situation. I took that...and RAN with it. We're doing a shabby chic backyard bbq. Her colors totally work with the theme and she is excited about it. However, my taste far exceeds my budget. Of course, Pinterest doesn't help things. If you follow me, you know I went cray cray yesterday with the pinning but I have so many great ideas!

All pictures came from my Pinterest board "Bridal Shower". If I remember where the picture came from I linked the photo back to the site.

Our dresses are marigold. So these would look GREAT on the tables. Plus these vases remind me of something my great grandma or grandma would have/had in their homes.

I am visioning cute little frames in front of the food for labels. I doubt we use assigned seating. I really just want to involve chalkboard paint in some way. I would probably try to find cute vintage frames. Again, I can tell I'm already exceeding my budget.

Well this is just plain adorable. Mason jars will be involved. Either in drinks, part of the food or maybe as a gift. I thought about putting all the dry ingredients for Lauren's favorite cookies in them. Then, everyone can go home and bake cookies. A gift that they will actually use!

More of the awesome vases. I adore these place settings and I could easily whip this one up.

Burlap is DEFINITELY happening. I love the idea of a burlap table runner with a white tablecloth underneath it. Maybe a couple of long tables put together like this one and then just a few vases with flowers.

I love the idea of serving food in metal bowls. Since the shower will most likely be in June. We'll probably keep most of the food inside. You never know what the bug/heat situation will be like. But, we'll see how that goes.

Now, we need to figure out what kind of food to serve. I think my sister wants a legit bbq, like food on the grill. So, I guess we'll have to put the guys to work on that one! Desserts and side dishes to be determined...

If you have any ideas, input or experience please share! This is my first time planning a shower and I want it to be amazing! Happy Thursday Ladies!

Craving Pastels.

I need to do some Spring shopping because I'm craving some new pastel pieces for my closet. Which means I need to purge even more because I don't think these items will even fit right now! I spent some time last night browsing F21 and came up with a few low cost items that will definitely add some of the Spring trends to your wardrobe. All photos link back to the site.

If I buy one thing on this list, it will be the mint denim. I need these in my life! Plus, this pair is only $15.50

This top is adorable and only $9.80!! I would definitely pair it with either pair of the pants listed above.

I think this sleeveless peach blouse would look great with the mint colored jeans. Another steal...$13.50!

Are you loving this one shoulder feather print dress as much as I am? $22.80...this is why I buy trendy items at F21. You can't beat the prices!

I love anything with stripes (or polka dots...which you'll see next). This is a great way to show off the horizontal stripe trend. I love that there is a little bit of volume in this skirt. Perfect for work! $24.80.

This is mint, has polka dots, has a belt and is flowy. Everything I need in a dress! $22.80.

What are your favorite trends for Spring? Have you purchased any pastels yet? If so, please share!! I cannot wait for my Spring shopping trip. I'm going to try to hold off for a few weeks. We'll see how that goes!

Happy Tuesday Ladies! I hope you are having a great week!

Weekend = Wedding Planning

I spent my weekend talking wedding with my sister. We did the BM dresses on Saturday. It was relatively painless except for the fact that I was up at 6 am on a Saturday. I only have one picture of the dress we chose....and it's awful. This 4'11" frame was rocking a size 8 dress. Seriously! I'm nervous about the fit of the final product. They didn't have any dresses in that line in a smaller size so I'm praying that the belt actually hits me where it's supposed to. If not, the alterations are going to be out of control.

The dress is incredibly soft, lightweight and comfortable. The picture links you to Dessy's website. Of all the dresses my sister liked (there were 8 different dresses in 3-5 colors) this was the only one we actually liked in person. I love the color and I know it's a cliche but I'm pretty sure I will wear this again.

After dresses, we had DELICIOUS cake. I think she decided on the cake and the fillings so that is something she can cross off. They have to settle on a design which is a secret. It is apparently going to be funny. I envision huskies all over the cake but I don't think they will go that far!

I spent Sunday cuddling with Braxton and enjoying a One Tree Hill marathon thanks to Netflix Instant. My little man was super snuggly so I wanted to take advantage of it!

Happy Monday Dolls! This week is crazy but I kind of enjoy it. The last week of the rotation means a lot of time for me to sit in silence while I proctor exams. I enjoy the down time, plus I get paid to read a book!

Friday Favorites

My love for all things cheese related is not a secret. I absolutely love cheese. I bought this delicious treat this week and I need to share it with you!

So delicious!! I prefer the whole grain wheat thins with it. I think I'm going to be trying some more flavors because I love it that much.

I also bought these to keep at work. I like chips. It's a problem. So, I figured I would find something to substitute for my greasy potato chips.

I'm going to leave you with a Pinterest find that combines all of these things...

Yum...right?!?! Happy Friday Ladies! It's going to be a crazy weekend. But, I'm glad my sister is coming home. There will be lots of wedding things happening on Saturday. I'm sure I'll have tons to share on Monday. We're going to be rushing back home on Saturday to watch the UNC/Duke game. I'm looking forward to watching it with the whole fam!

I'm borderline obsessed with Tervis.

My grandparents gave my dad a 4 pack of the 16 oz. Ohio State Tervis cups for Christmas a few years ago. I love them. Well, there's a Tervis store in Key West. I went nuts! I wanted them all! I ended up with this one.

I got the 24 oz with a green lid and a straw for poolside bevies. Plus, it kind of has an OU feel about it! By the way, they did have the OU ones there. Which is CRAZY to me!

They just came out with water bottles. So, Ty Ty got this one as payment of taking care of little Braxton for a week.

He steals pretty much every water bottle I purchase. He really likes my nalgenes. Oh and once a protein shake has been in a water bottle, it's hard to drink water out of them. They're never the same. Let's hope this keeps him away from my next water bottle!

Do any of you own a Tervis cup? How much do you love it?? They had adorable Bridesmaids, Bride, Groomsmen and Groom cups with the bride and groom's names on the back with the wedding date. I think Sister needs to do this! Such a nice gift that people will actually use! If you have a beach vaca planned and don't own one of these, I highly recommend you get one before you go. You won't regret it!

Happy Thursday Dolls!
