This week we're going to be looking at Jennifer Aniston. Love her or hate her, you can't deny that the woman does not age. Seriously! Friends ended in 2004 and she looks the same. I want to know what she does because I'll jump on that wagon in a heart beat! Jen is notoriously in a nice pair of jeans. She is basically a girl after my own heart. Maybe it's because I wear skirts, tights and nice pants all week but I love wearing a nice fitted pair of jeans on the weekends.

All photos came from Celebrity Style Guide

I love the leather jacket she is wearing in the first two photos. It definitely takes on a new look when paired with the black jeans and biker boots. Speaking of the boots, I have some very similar by BCBG and I absolutely love them. The next outfit could easily be replicated with a thermal long sleeve shirt and cute scarf. There is really nothing to it. I think the last outfit is something I have probably worn. Love it.

I had to do something that showed off her ridiculous legs. I'm pretty sure that she is a yoga/Pilate's kind of girl. This just re-affirms the fact that I need to start doing yoga again. End.Of.Story. By the way, I would give anything to have the beachy waves she is rocking in the first pic. Ugh.

Something you may not know about me...I love coats. I could have dozens and manage to wear them all. I bought one last weekend. So, I picked the first two pictures because of the coats. They're awesome! Her pants suit rocks my world. Again, with the amazing legs and fabulous figure! The tweed dress is so something I wish was hanging in my closet.

One other thing, I want my hair to shine like hers. Why are people so obsessed with Jen's hair?? Maybe because it always looks great! Ahh. Her cute long bob is my hair inspiration for the growing out process. Baby steps people. Baby steps. In reality, I want it long again but I'm trying to be patient.

What do you think of Jen's style?? Would you count her as one of fashion inspirations? She doesn't really do anything cutting edge or out of the box but I think that's what I like about her. She keeps things down to earth and easy. I bet if any of you went to your closet, you could probably re-create one of these looks. Personally, I would love to know how many pairs of jeans she owns!

Happy Wednesday Ladies!

Thanksgiving Re-Cap Part 2

On to the food....

My homemade mac and cheese. I have to admit, I kind of wing this recipe. It's never exactly the same but it's always delicious. Here is the gist.

12-16 oz of pasta (whatever you have on hand or are in the mood for...we had elbow)
1 cup milk
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
A mixture of 4 cups of cheese. I used 2 cups cheddar and 2 cups of a colby jack mix. Plus, a few generous shakes of parmesan cheese.
1 can Campbell's cheese soup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the pasta a little short of Al dente. You want it to still be a little firm. While the pasta is cooking mix the milk, flour, salt, pepper, cheese soup and half of all cheeses in a medium bowl. Butter a 13 x 9 dish. Mix pasta and cheese/milk mixture in the dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Finish with bread crumbs. Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbling and hot.

For my stuffing, I used a modified version of Julie's recipe on PB Fingers. We added a few more spices like sage and rosemary. I wish I could tell you how much but my dad and I were just shaking away. It turned out fabulously! Thanks Julie!!

My dad's glorious turkey. It was seriously so delicious. He deep fried it. The meat was so juicy and tender. YUMM! I can't believe that all of this food still sounds good even after eating it for days.

Look at our little princesses. Reagan and Tristan are seriously the cutest!

Chloe actually let them pet her. We made sure they didn't get any closer than this. Let's face it, my cat is not the nicest girl on the planet. I was impressed that there was no hissing or biting!

I'll post pics of my Black Friday purchases later. I was too tired to do it last night. In reality I shouldn't have been tired because I managed to oversleep yesterday. Yep, I woke up 20 minutes before I had to leave. I was only 30 minutes late to work. Ugh. Hey, it could have been worse!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Thanksgiving Week OOTD's

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday/weekend. I've been MIA. I decided to disconnect for a bit. It was much needed. I did try to keep up with all of your blogs though! I decided to break my recap up into 2 posts. Post one...OOTD's and a few other things. Post Two...FOOD!

This is my Thanksgiving Eve outfit! I'm pretty bad about taking pics of none work week outfits. I'm trying to improve on this. I was surprisingly comfortable considering I was probably the ONLY sober person at the bars but it was a great time!

Cardigan: New York and Co
Tank: Target
Jeans: American Eagle Jeggings
Booties: Unlisted by Kenneth Cole
Necklace: Forever 21
Watch: Anne Klein
Bracelets: Handmade
Clutch: Express

My Thanksgiving Day outfit. I had a lot of cooking to take care of so I went for the comfortable shoes. I started taking pics before I had my necklace on so I had to quickly snap another one before the family showed up.

Top: J Crew
Jeans: American Eagle Skinny Jeans
Boots: Steve Madden
Belt: Forever 21
Watch: Anne Klein
Necklace: Gift

After a lot of Thanksgiving food, a second helping for dinner, 2 naps and a A Gaga Thanksgiving Special we went Black Friday shopping. We left at 12:30 am and I was home at 7:30 am...totally ready for bed! I plan to post the purchases I made for myself tomorrow.

My final topic for this post is this....

He's home!! Seriously, how cute are they? I'm so glad my sister has her little family all back together again. LeRoy was so excited to see his daddy. He wouldn't let Nik and Lauren touch each other. He wanted all of the attention. Mr. Brown might be a little bit needy! We get to see them this weekend and we're all pretty excited about it.

This week is going to seem so long. That's what I get for working 2 days last week. Yes, I ended up taking Wednesday off at the last minute. My mom needed so much help getting ready for Thanksgiving. Lauren was supposed to be home but then we found out Nik was coming home Thanksgiving Day so she stayed in TN. Which means my mom was in a panic because she had no help. I gotta say...sleeping in on Wednesday was AMAZING! Let's make it a good week Ladies!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my lovely ladies! I hope you are all indulging in delicious food today. I went out with some friends last night for the traditional Thanksgiving Eve festivities. Due to the mono, I was the sober friend. Which benefited me because I'm contributing two sides to our T-giving feast. My homemade mac and cheese and the stuffing. This is pretty high stakes because stuffing is probably my favorite part of Thanksgiving. I hope it turns out.

This evening I will be watching the Lady Gaga special. Why wouldn't I??? 8 performances and one on one with Katie Couric. It sounds A.MAZ.ING.

Around mid-night, I'll be heading out for the crazy Black Friday festivities at an Outlet Mall near Dayton. I have my coupons, my comfy shoes, appropriate attire all planned out and a nice cross body handbag to keep my hands free! I hope that I have enough sense to take some pictures of the fiasco. It's always entertaining! I especially loved last year, when we stopped at Bob Evans before coming home and my sister order a giant cheeseburger at 7:30 am. HILARIOUS. She couldn't fight the craving. I don't blame the girl. I already know I'll be ordering the Garden Harvest Omelet and coffee. Sister isn't joining us this year but there is a good reason. More on that later...

Also THE BIG GAME is Saturday. If you don't know what game I'm referring to, you might not be from the midwest. Ohio State v. Michigan. The Bucks will be headed to Ann Arbor. If OSU can win one game to end this little losing streak, please...I repeat PLEASE let it be this game. They have quite the winning streak going on (Michigan hasn't beat OSU since 2004) and I would hate for some stupid controversy and all of the after shocks of it to end it. And for the sake of my insanity, Luke Fickell better not decide to run the stupid wildcat formation ONE MORE TIME. Our biggest running threat is our QB so why in the hell would you put a running back in to take the snaps?? I hope after the first of December we get the announcement that Buckeye Nation needs and they FINALLY after months of speculation announce that Urban Meyer will be the new head coach at Ohio State. And that is my sports related rant. I apologize!

If any of you plan to shop on Friday, I expect to hear all about it!! Do any of you have great Thanksgiving traditions? This Black Friday extravaganza has become ours. We love the Outlet Mall on a normal day but it goes to a new level on Black Friday!

Fashion Favorites!

This week's Fashion Favorite is Pippa Middleton. She hit the fashion scene with a bang when she basically stole her sister's thunder during that wedding that was watched by millions. People even go to their plastic surgeons and request the Pippa booty. I don't even know what to think of that! Personally, I won't be going that far but I would like 5 minutes in her closet. She has a very easy style. But, she always has it perfect...down the handbag and sunnies.

First two groups are from Celebrity Style Guide and the last one is from Radar Online.

First up, jeans/pants. Like her sister, she also enjoys a great pair of tall boots. I too enjoy tall/riding boots. The first of many things we have in common! I tend to be selecting ladies that like to layer their clothing. Exhibit A: the blazer. Which I believe also made an appearance on Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad. What can I say, I love a great jacket or cardi. She pulls of the the colder weather fabulously in this adorable coat.

Pippa loves her dresses. Her legs are fab so she has every right to show them off. She always has a nice glow about her too. Self tanner? Spray tan? What are you doing Pippa?? The ladies want to know.  This evening look is gorgeous.

The printed dresses might be my favorite because printed dresses have a soft spot in my heart. Her little pops of red in the one on the left are perfect. Look at her toned arms. Ugh. Just tell me what your workout routine is Pippa. I will start tomorrow!

Please notice, she is wearing a great pair of sunglasses in every photo except the evening look. I love that she wears a lot of flats. I wear heels...A LOT. I need the height. When I say I need it, it's not a self-esteem thing, I seriously need it so my pants don't drag on the ground! I have 3 pairs of pants that are acceptable with flats (that's not counting my cropped/ankle pants). But, I have some ADORABLE flats that I love to wear.

Don't get me started on her handbags. I want them all. Not kidding. Every.Single.One.Of.Them.

What are your thoughts on Pippa Middleton's style? Would you love to raid her closet?

If you could spend 5 minutes in the closet of one stylish lady, who would you choose? Who knows...maybe she'll be my next fashion favorite!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

P.S. I'm doing my Thanksgiving post early so it can be ready to post tomorrow. I hope you all have your Black Friday shopping lists ready to go!

OOTD Updates

I did manage to take a few pictures of two of my outfits last week.

Sweater: Express
Pants: New York and Co
Shoes: Nine West
Watch: Anne Klein
Bracelets: Handmade
Necklace: Handmade

I loved this necklace that my mom made. But, one of my co-workers literally bought it off of my neck. So sad we no longer have it. I plan to make another very similar one.

Remember me saying I looked like a school girl? Here it is. School girl.

Blouse: Forever 21
Cardigan: Gap
Skirt: Banana Republic
Tights: Hue
Booties: Unlisted by Kenneth Cole
Necklace: Forever 21

My cookies and trifle were a huge hit yesterday. The chair of the department had 3 cookies before 10 am and also said he doesn't understand how I'm not married when I can bake like that. The trifle was seriously so light and delicious. Thankfully, there is some left and I'll be indulging in a little bit more of it today!

Ok Ladies, we are one day closer to Thanksgiving which means one day closer to Black Friday shopping! I got my first coupon for the Banana Republic Factory store yesterday. I need to get my plan of attack figured out!! Happy Tuesday!

My Weekend = Baking

Happy Monday Ladies! I hope all of you get to experience a 3 day work week too because I'm incredibly excited about it! We are having our office carry-in today. Last year we did it on Wednesday and ended up having to take all of our leftovers home. So, we're hoping the Residents finish off anything we left over tomorrow! I made my sugar cookies. I had the hardest time finding Fall/Thanksgiving cookie cutters. I ended up with the box of 101 Wilton plastic cookie cutters. I was actually quite hesitant to buy plastic cookie cutters. I was afraid they wouldn't work as well. But, I was out of options. In the end, I only used the pumpkin shape because nothing else was fitting. But, I'm so prepared for any occasion now! The plastic cookie cutter surprised me and worked really well.

My little pumpkin. There is also a GIANT pumpkin but I refrained from using it!

My cousin's bridal shower is in a couple of weeks. I'm making cookies for her. So, I attempted a trial run with royal icing but I think my other icing will probably be the one I use. I'll be sure to take pictures of the final product!

This pan is from Pampered Chef. I need to tell you. IT.IS.THE.BOMB. I highly recommend it. I've had it about 2 years and it is on the only one I like to use for my cookies. When it came out, it was their only metal baking sheet. It's possible they have more now. Seriously, check it out. It has a great weight to it so it's really sturdy and durable.

There is no way I would make these cookies without this beauty. It is my life saver! It's doing work on the royal icing in this picture.

The royal icing mixes for about 8 minutes. While that is doing it's thing, I set up my bowls for mixing the color. I like to use our older ceramic bowls because they clean up easier and it won't stain like the plastic bowls. You know I'm a little anal so I have my color sitting in front of each bowl with the lid off and toothpick in the container for spooning it out. I also have plastic wrap ready to cover the bowls that I'm not currently mixing. It can start to set up and get hard so covering it is the way to go. By the way, I prefer to use Wilton's gel based food coloring.

I prefer to use squeeze bottles for royal icing. Controlling the flow is much easier this way. You can find these at any craft or party store.

I did the black tips of the pumpkin first and let them totally dry so it wouldn't spread into the orange.

Some people like to make some of their royal icing thicker for trimming the cookie then adding water to thin out the rest for "flooding". Personally, I think that is just too much work. I keep it all the same consistency and I just trim and flood it. My icing is similar to the consistency of toothpaste.

I had a helper. He was hoping for something, anything to fall on the floor.

I also made a pumpkin gingerbread trifle. I'm kind of an over-achiever. This is the Pampered Chef trifle bowl. The stand is removable. Awesome. That lid is a lifesaver. I basically love Pampered Chef.

My cookbooks are self-made. I print the recipes and put them in clear plastic covers. (If you have spillage - it won't stain your recipe, you can just wipe it off!) Then, I keep them in binders. Yes that's plural. My binder got too full. I now have one just for desserts.

So, that's pretty much what I did this weekend. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen. I also watched Crazy, Stupid, Love...again. What can I say, R.G. won me over in that one! I have some OOTD's for you tomorrow and I'll let you know what everyone thinks of my treats!

Friday Favorites

Ladies, it is FRIDAY!! How happy are we? My Friday Favorites is all about online shopping. I've had a problem this week. 3. YES THREE. Separate orders. Oh my! Shall we see what I've purchased?

I may or may not have made a purchase from VS just so I could get a secret reward card. Oh and the underwear for 7/$26. I cannot pass that up! I can't wait to see what my reward is. I'm sure it's $10 but you know I'm hoping for $500.

J Crew and their 30% off Sale merchandise got the best of me. Let me tell you, my cart far exceeded these two items. But, I scaled back. I think the stripe shirt could look great with some denim shorts and sandals/Sperry's on the beach in February! I have a closet full of cardis but not a single one is a wrap with a belt. So, now I have one!

Ok, Hautelook. You snagged me too. (I know the picture quality is horrendous but it's the best I could do.) After shipping, etc this was only $29. I couldn't resist. I have wanted a quilted cross body bag for a while. Let's be real. You know I wish this was Chanel. But, it is not. However, a girl can dream and maybe pretend in her mind that it is Chanel. The color is pewter which does not translate well here.

I placed my VS order late afternoon on Sunday and it was waiting for me after work on Wednesday. Impressive. Let's hope the same goes for J Crew. I'm not expecting much from Hautelook. It took me forever to get my watch but I would love to have this by Thanksgiving Eve.

I managed to take a few OOTD's but I might just leave them for Monday or Tuesday. By the way, I totally looked like a school girl on Thursday. Thankfully, I opted out of wearing my glasses. That would have sent the look over the edge. Have a great weekend Dolls!

P.S. Have you read about the backlash about Ryan Gosling not being Sexiest Man Alive?? Apparently, I'm not the only one that thought he should get it. There's no ill will against Mr. Cooper because he's deserving of the title but apparently Ryan's stand out year made him the front runner in the eyes or many adoring Ladies...and George Clooney!

And the winner is...

People Magazine announced their Sexiest Man Alive for 2011 yesterday. And the winner is...Bradley Cooper. (Personally, I was hoping for Ryan Gosling. He's had a great year and the guy is looking better by the minute. Have you seen him in Crazy, Stupid, Love? YUMMM.)

Not that Bradley Cooper isn't a great choice. He is most def sexy and so funny! One of my favorite scenes in The Hangover is when they first wake up and Alan finds the "jungle cat" in the bathroom. He totally freaks out and a shirtless Bradley Cooper goes in to check it out. He really does look hungover in that scene and he played it perfectly. Hilarious. I have to admit that I'm laughing to myself as I write this because I can see Alan making his double take at the tiger and totally freaking out! He was such an ass in Wedding Crashers and totally deserved the eye drops in his drink but I loved him anyway.

Let's look at him, shall we.
(Source for all)

I have to say that he looks as good with no hair as he does with those luscious locks. I have a friend with similar locks. We like to call him John Stamos which then prompts people to say "have mercy" in true Uncle Jesse fashion. And now, I'm laughing again. Please tell me some of my Bobcats that attended our 5 year mini reunion are reading this and thinking of us sitting at The Pub and Nick repeatedly saying Have Mercy every time Jank touched his hair?!?! (Also, I just browsed that album on FB and I'm pretty sure the lawyer friend would not want any of those pictures on the bloggy!)

If you could pick another guy to be the Sexiest Man Alive, who would you choose? I would love to hear your opinions!

I'm so happy I'm saying this, HAPPY THURSDAY DOLLS! It is almost the weekend already and I need it!

Fashion Favorites

This week's Fashion Favorite is Lauren Conrad. I loved her on Laguna and The Hills. I adore her LC by Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's. If my wallet would let me buy Paper Crown, I know I would be obsessed with that as well. She has such an easy Cali girl vibe but definitely knows how to turn things up. If you don't visit her website, you should. www.laurenconrad.com

All photos came from Celebrity Style Guide

I love her casual look. She can work anything from skinny jeans and flats to rain boots. Her hair always looks effortless but chic. I'm sure she spends more time on it than I expect. But, in my mind she gets up touches it up with a curling iron and goes. I would give anything to do that. But, this course, thick, curly hair does not allow it!

Miss LC has quite the glow about her. Is it just genetics or some amazing moisturizer/self tanner/miracle product that I need to buy...immediately? Can I let you in on a little secret. I desperately want my hair to grow so I can rock the ballerina bun. When my hair was long, I could have done this on the reg. I like wearing my hair up. I tend to do the messy, curly bun thing when my hair is long because 1. it's easy 2. it looks cute with little effort. I die for the polka dot dress. And the combo on the end is a.maz.ing. She layers clothes very well.

I mean she even pulls off a sweatshirt like it just came off the runway.

LC, you have grown up a lot since your Laguna days with the Kristen, Stephen, Lauren love triangle. I think your style is wonderful. I would definitely raid your closet!

How amazing would it be to design clothes and know that if you ever wanted something, you could just make it?! Ugh. I would be in heaven! How do you feel about Lauren's style? Do any of you own anything from either of her lines? There are a pair of boots at Kohl's that have been calling my name and I keep ignoring them.  I might have to give in!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

It's the little things in life...

My dad, being the awesome guy that he is, bought these knowing it would make my day.

When you're feeling crummy Starbucks can really turn your day around. Well, at least it can turn my day around! The house smelled like I had just stepped into a Starbucks which puts an instant smile on my face! Now, if only it was a caramel macchiato but I'll take what I can get.

My boy Coop and I cuddled a lot this weekend. I was either on the couch or in my bed. I think he knows I don't feel well so he is being exceptionally loving. However, I got up to wash my face Friday night and the little brat took over the couch. 5 seconds after I snapped this, he turned around with a look of "What?? I'm just trying to stretch out because you've been hogging the couch all day."

I still love him though. And the Coopie kisses are probably my favorite thing in life. He is just a giant puppy and wants to love on you. You can't stay mad at that! Oh and yes...he is flashing his junk to everyone. He has no shame. He doesn't care who's around so I might as well share it with the interweb!

I'm going to leave you with this picture of my ponytail from yesterday. It's ridic.

Yes, I'm wearing glasses and I have one of my workout headbands holding all of those loose pieces in place. A faculty member said I looked different yesterday. I think it was his way of saying, you're not your usual self. In his defense, I haven't worn my hair up in nearly a year, so it was a shock to most of my coworkers. They might want to get used to the glasses and ponytail look because it might be making several more appearances over the next few weeks!

Tomorrow I'll be returning with my Fashion Favorites! I'm hoping I actually feel up to dressing cute by the end of the week and I can at least share an OOTD with my ladies!  Happy Tuesday!
