Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween Dolls! Did any of you dress up this year? I hope you're costumes were fabulous! I actually didn't do anything this year. I just wasn't in the mood but I thought I would show you some of my past costumes.

Let's start with me as a child. I was Raggedy Ann. My cousin Tarin was a clown. I'm clearly thrilled to be participating in the Halloween festivities. We are at my grandparent's house in this picture. I love it. I would give anything to have those tights now!

Tarin and I again as a college students! I was Where's Waldo's girlfriend Wanda. It was so comfortable and warm, which I appreciated!

Junior year of college with my roommate Andrea. This is a child's Lady Bug costume that fit me like a shirt. It was unseasonably warm that year so once again, I was comfortable! I had on black yoga like pants. Andrea is on the verge of losing it in this picture because the antennae was not cooperating.

This was a couple of years ago. I'm wearing Jenn's actual Girl Scout vest. Hilarious. I converted a box of Girl Scout cookies into a purse. It worked perfectly. I wish you could see my adorable heels but I couldn't find a full length photo. Jess is Lady Gaga if you couldn't figure that out! She had a disco stick. I still find particles of glitter in my car.

My Senior year of college my cousin Tarin and I plus 2 of her friends went as the 4 seasons. It was great. But, once again it was incredibly warm so the girls that were Fall and Winter were not prepared. I was Summer. I wore white pants, a bikini top and a big white floppy hat. I had a light weight white zip up hoodie for later in the evening when it got chilly. It was a great group costume!

So there are some of my past costumes! I hope you all had a great weekend and let's get ready for another work week!

Friday Favorites!

Let me start this post with this: It is Thursday evening and I'm high as a kite on migraine medication. For Real Ladies, Lindsey is a wreck right now! I hope this post makes sense. In case you're wondering, the headache is borderline gone. The work day tomorrow is iffy to say the least. I paid a visit to the old workplace today to see the doctor. He gave me a hug and said I was burning up turns out a I had a fever of over 100 degrees. So, who knows what is going on but the last thing I need is to get sick.

Enough of that!

This made me DIE laughing on Wednesday.

My sister pinned it on Pinterest because this actually happened to her as a child. Not kidding. Her caption was "it happens to the best of us". Gotta love her! Only when it happened to her she was horizontal and holding onto the end of the cabinet and yelling for help. Sister was a climber and that is probably the understatement of the century. At 9 months she was walking and climbing out of her crib. At a year and a half she was climbing up the cabinet on top of the microwave and sitting on top of the refrigerator. I wish I could say I was kidding. On more than one occasion I remember waking up to find her sitting up there. She is six years younger than me so I remember this vividly. I showed my parents this picture and we were all in tears from laughing so hard.

I had intended to post Halloween pics from college. However, having a migraine for 2 days made that difficult so I promise to do it on Monday! I know I've been talking about OU a lot lately but I think this article explains why. I'm sure this can apply to almost any college across the country. But, I really loved seeing everyone comment about it on Facebook this week.

I think I'm going lay in bed tonight (and let's be honest, probably tomorrow too) and watch my favorite go to movies. Mean Girls, The Notebook, P.S. I Love You, Father of the Bride, Juno, Bride Wars, How to Lose a Guy, Steel Magnolias, Sweet Home Alabama, My Best Friends Wedding. Ok, obviously I won't watch all of them! I have a large movie collection. I love movies. I could lay around and watch them all day.

What are your favorite movies when you need to spend a day in bed?

Happy Friday Dolls! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. If you're celebrating Halloween, I hope you have an AMAZING time!!

P.S. Happy 50th Birthday to my Mom today!!!

30 By 30...1 down.

Well I finished Lost. I understand the obsession with the show. I understand how it changed television. I can see why some people were angry about the ending but I loved it. I'm happy. However, if they wanted to continue the show for another 6 seasons, I wouldn't be opposed to that. I desperately wanted to finish the series so I could see what happens but then I didn't want it to end either. Quite the predicament! I think I want to watch the entire series again. I know there are things I missed. During the cold Ohio Winter months, I have a feeling I will be watching more Lost.

I love Desmond. He is one of my favorites. I cried when he was reunited with Penny. They are fantastic. Their little boy was adorable.

Sawyer was such a great character. I had a love/hate relationship for a long time. But, watching him lose Juliet was devastating. I hated it. According the James "Sawyer" Ford wiki page, he was named the 16th greatest television character of all time.

I could honestly sit here and break down the entire show. What I loved and hated about the characters, etc. But, that would be incredibly boring. I will say this. I'm glad that in the end everyone was with who I hoped they would be with. The Sawyer/Juliet reunion in the Sideways storyline was perfect. The way Hurley and Boone brought Shannon and Sayid back together was great. The sideways Hurley was awesome.

Ok, I'm back to describing every little thing again. This needs to end now!!

Happy Thursday Dolls! I get to go out to lunch with the girls today to celebrate several accomplishments in our department. I'm so excited for some delicious sea food!!

Jello Shots = College Flashback

I ate my body weight in jello shots this weekend. I'm not exaggerating. It was bad! There were also margaritas. Here is a pic of our table at one point in the evening.

I think I counted at least 20 on the table in this picture and that is only about half of the table. It was bad news! By the way, I'm aware the picture is blurry but what do you expect!

This made me flashback to my college days. Specifically, Halloween weekend Senior year. We had a Snapple cooler in our living room. We filled that entire cooler with jello shots and alcohol for the weekend. Before we left for the evening, we filled our bags with jello shots. Seriously, the best idea...EVER!

This is Halloween weekend in Athens. The BIGGEST party of the year. To all my Bobcats out there, if you're celebrating on Court St for the first time, I have few words of wisdom. 1. Be smart. (i.e. no open containers or crazy drunken behavior on the streets) 2. Watch out for the crazies - they come out of the wood work. 3. Cops are known to get dressed up too. 4. If you get arrested - pray that you end up in the Athens jail not Nelsonville's. That's a long trip home. 5. Have fun. 6. Take A LOT of pictures. 7. If you can go to the bars...do it. They are typically empty and you can have so much fun with your friends. 8. Don't pass out at The C.I. They will throw you out. One of my friends knows this first hand. 9. If you're brave enough to go to The Ridges...do it. I never had the guts!

I plan to show some of my favorite Halloween costumes later this week. Get ready!! Happy Wednesday Dolls!

Weekend Re-cap

Sorry I was MIA yesterday but I took the day off and decided to take a break from everything. I thought I would show you what I did this weekend.

Jenn coaches Cross Country and our girls and boys teams competed at Districts. The girls team qualified for Regionals. We are very proud of them!

Michelle is the bomb! 3rd place!

I did some shopping...of course.

I love my other Sephora blush so much that I had to get another color. This is more natural for me and the other is a brighter pink. It kind of reminds me of Nars Orgasm.

I think I am going to buy the new Burberry Body perfume but I really like Lola by Marc Jacobs. So, I bought one of the rollerballs at Sephora. It's a nice to go option. Also, they have a bunch of other scents so if you need one to throw in your purse definitely check it out!

The new Essie Bobbing for Baubles. I tested it and I'm totally in love with it!!

I finally bought the Matte about you! It. Is. Awesome.

4 new belts. Yes. FOUR. I got them all at Forever 21. The three on the left came together for $5.50 and the purple one was $1.50. I can't wait to wear them with some of my dresses!

Another silk blouse from Forever 21. It's kind of a creamish pale pink color. Only $13.99.

This probably looks familiar. That's because I have it in purple. It's a great dress so I figured getting it in another color was a great idea. For some reason the coloring would not cooperate when I was taking the pictures. Not kidding, I had this dress hanging in 4 different locations. I have no idea what was going on and I didn't have the patience to figure it out. It's a little more green than it looks here.

I finally found a pale pink cardigan. It's not exactly what I wanted but it's close enough. I found it at New York and Company. There was also a necklace but I failed to take a picture of it. So, when I wear it I'll be sure to point it out.

So, there was my weekend in a nutshell and a day late. I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Friday Favorites!

Here are my favorites for this week! First up the nail polish I'm wearing right now. I really like it!

I don't even know what it's called. It's one of the minis from a 4 color set that Jenn got me. The tiny brush works great for doing my tips.

Gigi's Canadian Maple cupcake. It's basically like dipping your bacon in maple syrup while taking a bite of a pancake. DELICIOUS.

I got a free sample of this Philosophy Miracle Worker moisturizer and I have fallen in love with it. It's a little more than I want to spend on moisturizer but I have a coupon and I'm thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and buy it.

What are you all loving this week?? I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Mine is jam packed with lots of stuff and I have Monday off which I'm totally looking forward to.

I've been busting my butt at work for well over a month. I actually have free time now and I don't really know what to do with myself. I haven't worked through my lunch at all this week. Crazy! I was minding my own business yesterday probably looking up wedding dress shaped cookie cutters. (More on that later.) Then, the Chair of our Department came in this afternoon and said, "You're hot stuff Mama! Everyone on campus is talking about you." I could tell he could read the confusion all over my face. Apparently, the course I've been working on was the most prepared and organized it has ever been in the history of the Neuroscience courses. Allow me to pat myself on the back! He is sending me and some of my co-workers out to lunch next week for a job well done. YAY!!! I don't like to brag when I do something right because I feel like that's the way it should be done. But, to get the validation is fantastic. I like knowing that other people see how much hard work and endless hours I put into that project. It was my baby and I had actually started prepping for it in February! In case you aren't aware I'm very Type A and probably OCD and kind of a perfectionist. So, doing something half way is not an option. If the Chair wants to send me out to lunch when the Associate Dean is saying nice things about me, I'll take it!! Enough of that talk...on to some fun stuff!!

Jess pinned these beauties on Pinterest.

She pinned them with the caption, "wedding shower cookies". So, I commented and said that if she really wanted them I could do it. She said she secretly hoped I would see them. Let's be serious ladies, these are some AWESOME looking cookies and I cannot wait to make them. I think they will be so much fun! I'm probably as excited about making them as she is to have them at her shower. My friend Allie is getting married this summer. So, it's possible I could have them perfected and ready for her as well!

There is also a wedding cake in the set of cookie cutters I plan to buy. I kind of want to play around with them. I could be really creative with a wedding cake!

I'm looking forward to making my holiday cookies again! They are so much fun. The little Santa faces are my favorite!

It's already Thursday and I am so looking forward to the weekend!

Ladies I need your help!

I need to buy more face primer. I have been using Too Faced Primed and Poreless.

I have been using this for a while and I like it. But I have a sample of this Nars primer.

I like this too. I like the texture of it. But, I've heard great things about the Laura Mercier primer.

It's hydrating and is more of a gel base. I've tried Smashbox and Sephora brand. They were ok but so far Too Faced is my favorite. If any of you use primer, PLEASE tell me what you use. I'm taking suggestions. If there is something that beats Too Faced then I need to know about it! If any of you use the Laura Mercier one, let me know what you think about it! I'll be near a Sephora this weekend so I can pick something up!

Thanks in advance Ladies!! Hey and it's Wednesday already! The week is flying by.

My outfit yesterday. (Side note: It was straight up freezing in our building yesterday. Any time I left my office I would break out in full teeth chattering shivers. Thankfully, I have a space heater in my office and it was cranked up! I had a cardigan but it totally ruined the outfit. So, I suffered for fashion!)

Dress: Forever 21
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Reaction by Kenneth Cole
Necklace: Banana Republic
Belt: J Crew
Bracelets: Handmade
Watch: Anne Klein

I was going to add all of the things I wanted in the new J Crew catalog. Then, I realized I seriously want EVERYTHING in the catalog. Not even kidding. If I were to go through the catalog again right now, I would probably circle at least one thing on every page. Again, this is why I need unlimited funds! Have any of you checked out the new catalog yet? I'll be at the outlets on Monday and again on Black Friday so I'm hoping to hit the jackpot! If I could choose one skirt it would be the No. 2 Pencil Skirt. Don't ask me what color because it's just too difficult to choose just one! I'm DYING over the Honeycomb Cable Sweater. I will get another Jackie cardigan because the one I have is my absolute favorite cardigan and I have A LOT of them!

Well Happy Tuesday Dolls!

The weekends go by too quickly...

I was fairly lame this weekend. I'm the first to admit it and I embrace it! I did have an impromptu movie night with the bestie and I have to say it was fab. We watched Something Borrowed. I liked it and I want to see it again. The character of Ethan (John Krasinski) stole the show in my opinion. He was fantastic! I want him to be my friend!

I did this on Saturday.

It looks black but it is actually OPI Lincoln Park After Dark with OPI DS Radiance tips. It really wasn't that difficult. It just takes some prepping. I used scotch tape and cut it into thin pieces. I then placed it on my nails to give me the straight line for the tips. The concept is similar to painter's tape. The DS Radiance dries quickly so it didn't take long. I topped it with my OPI Rapid Dry Top Coat. (The holy grail in top coats if you ask me!) Unfortunately, I was making a lot of jewelry yesterday and it's already chipping. Bummer.

The kicker to my weekend was randomly losing power for 3 hours on Sunday. I started to panic around 5:30 because I needed to shower and I was quickly losing light. I knew there was enough water in the hot water heater to take care of the shower. So, I raced through my shower up until the point I had to shave my legs. Shaving in half darkness is not easy. I was praying I wouldn't cut myself. I managed to get thru it without any blood! I headed back to room and was planning on getting dressed and getting a bag ready in case I needed to leave. I didn't want to risk waking up to no power this morning. Of course, as soon as I get to my room the lights come back on. I risked cutting my leg up for no reason. But, at least the power was back on and I could continue my Lost marathon. (I'm halfway thru Season 6!!)

That was my weekend. It was booming with excitement! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves! It's back to the grind. But, I'm giving myself a 3 day weekend. I know, I know...you're probably jealous!

Friday Favorites!

This is a food obsessed post. I hope you're ready. Clearly I'm craving a lot of things. I need to satisfy these cravings as soon as possible!

First up...Dewey's Pizza. Apparently, if you don't live in Ohio, Northern Kentucky or St. Louis you've never heard of it. Well, it's thebomb.com. For Real.

I like to get the Socrates Revenge pizza. It has an olive oil and minced garlic base with mozzarella-fontina blend cheese, spinach, black olives, green olives, feta cheese, red onions and tomatoes on it. My mouth is watering at the thought of this pizza.

Next up in our food journey....Chipotle

I'm a veggie bowl kind of girl. I don't do the meat. It freaks me out a little bit. But, I'll eat the crap out of some rice, beans, corn, tomatoes, guac, lettuce and cheese.

We're going to round out the list with the Chopped Cobb Salad from Panera.

Why is the dressing like crack? I lick this bowl clean every time I get it. Bacon and Gorgonzola cheese. That is enough to sell me. I have a coordinator's meeting next week and I'll be stopping for this on my way there! I feel like a complete pig in front of them when I get this but I do not care. It is that good.

Are any of you having cravings for some delicious food? Please share...I might just end up joining you! Have a great weekend Dolls!

Happy Homecoming Bobkitties!

This weekend is Homecoming for my lovely Bobcats! Since I can't be there this year, I thought I would share some of the highlights from last year. I tried to keep it as PG as possible!

It's like Senior Year all over again!

Sister and I. It was her last Homecoming as a student. Oh how time flies!

It wouldn't be HC if Petty wasn't there!

Friends since 2002. Love them.

At the bars at 9 am and we slept in.

Sums the weekend up perfectly.

Contemplating how to break into our old stomping grounds.

Success! Apparently they have keyboards and giant iMacs in the lounge now. These kids are spoiled!

Not pleased that Jeff Hill was paved or maybe it was the thought of walking up that hill that resulted in this expression. It fits either way!

I think I was pretty successful in keeping most of the booze out of the pictures. I think we look pretty put together considering the 12+ hours of drinking we did.

I know I can count on Mark to drink for Ren and I since we won't be there to do it ourselves. I hope this weekend is amazing for all of those attending!

Happy Thursday Dolls!

Stress = Sweets

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this but this is my most chaotic time of the year. My stress level is at an all time high. The end is in sight ladies. After next week, I should be smooth sailing for several months. I'm trying to take it one day at a time and just push through. However, when I'm stressed I want to snack. Specifically on sweets. Cupcakes, chocolate, cookies, cake, ice cream. You name it. I try to limit the high cal sweets but sometimes a girl needs a Gigi's Cupcakes sugar high. Or some of Duff's Red Velvet Ice Cream by Blue Bunny. Which was the case last night. Ren had some stories to share with me so before I called her I made myself a bowl of this.

I was on my phone so I didn't take a picture of it and to be honest I was too lazy to get out the trusty point and shoot. I didn't look at the calorie count. I don't want to know. All I need to know is this is THE BEST ICE CREAM...EVER.  End of Story. It made me so happy. I'm so glad my sister informed me that I have to buy it.

I've been limiting myself to Skinny Cow because let's face it, when you've been stressed out for about a month you can really pack on the pounds! But, last night I needed a splurge and I'm so happy I did it. If any of you are looking for something to splurge on, try this! I think there was also some kind of triple chocolate chunk. I can't remember the exact name but it was lots of chocolatey goodness.

I plan to take a walk with Jenn tonight hopefully that will burn off some of my stress and I won't be compelled to eat my weight in sweets this evening!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

I wore the purple dress from Forever 21 yesterday. I love it. Now I know that I definitely need it in more colors.

Love the shoulders!

Dress: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: Target
Bracelets: Handmade
Watch: Anne Klein
Nails: OPI Brand New Skates

I plan to post about Kim's Wedding special but I had an extremely early morning so I had to DVR part 2. So, we'll leave that for tomorrow! Happy Tuesday Dolls!
