Eye Candy

I need a little pick me up to get me through this week. The week before long weekends seem to be the longest. I figured a little eye candy was just what I needed!

This smokeshow is the reason I watch Bachelor Pad. I kind of love him and I think he is too good for Holly. She goes on and on about how he broke her heart and left her. Umm...did you forget that you broke off the engagement before that?! There's a reason he couldn't trust you. Michael, I think it's time you date a different Ohio girl! :)

Dr. Jackson Avery...I hope you take your shirt off a few more times this season on Grey's. It makes my Thursdays more enjoyable!

Ryan Reynolds aka Van Wilder. I bought Definitely, Maybe because you were in it. I would hate coming home to those abs every night.

Chris Lowell. I remember the first time I saw you on the Grey's/Private Practice initial crossover episode. (Ya know which one I mean, Naomi was played by someone else.) You were going surfing and the ladies were waiting for you to show up shirtless. I fell in love. Then, they killed you off of the show. DEVASTATING. While watching The Help I had to IMDB it to figure out your name because I just couldn't remember it for the life of me. You might be my new crush.

Seriously, I could go on for days. But, I'll just leave you with the 4 of them. What better way to get thru your Wednesday than to stare at some good looking boys! I think it's the best medicine for a week that's dragging.

Who are your eye candy? Ok, I couldn't resist at least naming a few more like Brad Pitt (sans nasty beard - think Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper, Mark Salling (there's something about bad boy Puck from Glee), Jake Gyllenhaal, Chase Crawford and Channing Tatum.

I'll leave with those images in your head. Happy Wednesday Dolls!

I wore my new scarf yesterday. I got so many compliments on it. I even had an older man tell me that I looked better than cream cheese on strawberry cake. Seriously. This is my life!

Shirt: JCrew
Cami: Forever 21
Pants: New York & Co
Shoes: Shoe Carnival
Scarf: Gift
Bracelets: Mine
Nail Polish: OPI Cajun Shrimp

Please don't judge me for the mess in the background. I have yet to unpack from the weekend and I have a ton of laundry to put away. I chose the early bedtime over cleaning last night.

I didn't even watch Bachelor Pad. I'll watch it during my lunch today and I'll report back tomorrow!! I'm getting super excited for the Fall premieres of all of my shows. How about all of you?? I'm kind of ready for HIMYM and Grey's (just to name a couple)! What are your favorites?

Have a great Tuesday Dolls!

Reunited and it feels so good!

I have been reunited with my best friend and it feels so good to have her back in America! I'm a horrible blogger and friend because I didn't even get a picture with her. We had a great weekend. I loved hanging out with my college friends. We had great wine, great food and great company! I could use more weekends like that.

I also got a great birthday gift from Ren.

How fabuous is this Polish scarf? I love it. There are so many colors in it so I know I will get a lot of use out of it. Thanks again Ren, I absolutely love it!

Jill and I had to make a quick trip to TJ Maxx. I of course ended up with a new pair of shoes.

I seriously cannot wait to wear these with tights and a dress. I guess I'm ready for Fall!

I hope you all had a great weekend! Just think, next week at this time we'll be able to stay up late and sleep in on our day off! AHH! I love the thought of that!!

Friday Favorites!

Yayyyy!! It's Friday Ladies and I get to see my favorite world traveler today! That's right folks, Ren is FINALLY back on American soil and I'm Cleveland bound. I'm heading out early today in hopes of beating some traffic in Columbus. I cannot wait to have my other 2/3 by my side. Before I embark on my nearly 4 hour drive, I'll share with you my Friday Favorites!

I'm an every other day hair washer. I sometimes try to push that another day. Doing my hair is a task. (I cannot wait to have the option of a pony tail again.) So, finding a decent dry shampoo was a happy moment for me. I tried Tresemme's dry shampoo and I did not like it. I don't think it did anything for me. This Suave stuff does the trick! Plus, it smells great! The cheap price makes it even better. If you're wanting to try a dry shampoo I would recommend this one for sure! (It will def be in my bag this wknd.)

We've discussed my on going battle for clearer skin. It's just that, an ongoing battle. I think I've beat it and then it comes back. I think part of the problem was I abruptly stopped using my acne wash. So, as of right now I'm using the acne wash every other night and this St. Ives Green Tea Scrub any other time I wash my face. I really do think it has reduced the redness and I haven't had a breakout in weeks. (I just knocked on wood...not kidding.) The "scrub" isn't rough. It's very fine and I like the smell of it. I definitely recommend trying it.

These are my latest creations! I wore all of them together yesterday with a gray/black short sleeved sweater dress. The purple gave a little pop of color to my otherwise neutral outfit. (I wore nude pumps and had a gray cardigan on in the morning.) I put them on elastic...mainly because it was faster and I was trying to watch Big Brother when I was making them. When the bracelets are for me, I don't really care either way!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I'm going to enjoy my quality time with some pretty awesome Bobcats!

I have a mission for you...

Dolls, I'm on a mission to find a pale pink, long sleeve, light weight, long cardigan. I know...so specific. I have an obsession with cardigans. It's ALWAYS cold in my office. I work with a space heater on every day. This means I throw a cardigan over nearly every outfit. I do not have a pale pink one and I feel like it is something I need in my wardrobe. I have a few outfits that are dying for it. Here is my mission...if you find one, share the wealth.

My fall shopping extravaganza will be happening soon. I would like to have an idea of where to look to find said cardigan. I'm also going to be on the hunt for chocolate brown riding boots. Just an FYI! If you find me a cardigan, I will make you a bracelet. Seriously. I'll let you pick the color scheme and everything.

I don't want anything crazy. No ruffles, sparkle, crazy buttons, etc. This is kind of what I have in mind.

Now, I'm going to warn you. I've already been on the websites for the following places. Forever 21, American Eagle, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, NY & Co., Express, and The Limited.

I found this on JCrew. It's $90 but I'm sure I can find a cheaper option. I'm a girl that loves a good sale. I'm also not totally sold on the color. It looks a little peachy to me. If any of you see this in person, report back!

So, I want my fellow fashionistas to work their magic and let me know what you find! I'll be in Cleveland this weekend so I can stop by a mall or stop in Columbus on my way home if someone finds something that I need to get ASAP!

I'm happy to return this favor for any of you!!

OOTD and a general annoyance

An OOTD two days in a row. I'm sure you're so excited!!

Top: New York and Co.
Vest: New York and Co.
Trousers: New York and Co.
Shoes: Shoe Carnival
Bracelets: Mine

Can I share an annoyance with you Ladies? I'm aware that both my first and last name could be either a first or last name. I've been dealing with it my entire life. I even proved a point in high school when a rude substitute teacher kept calling me by my last name and I refused to answer. She gave me attitude for not answering her and I told her I would answer if she actually called me by my first name. I don't answer to Allison just like you wouldn't answer if someone said Smith. Back to my annoyance, my email address at work is first name.last name just like everyone else at the university. So, please tell me why people address my emails to Allison. I have a signature on my emails with my FULL name, title, address, etc. I get particularly annoyed when people respond to my email addressing me as Allison because I have signed their email with my name. It's right in front of them. It takes EVERY ounce of my being not to write them back addressing them as their last name or just writing MY NAME IS LINDSEY. IF YOU WANT A PROPER RESPONSE YOU SHOULD PROBABLY THINK ABOUT CALLING ME BY MY FIRST NAME NEXT TIME.

Please tell me some of you have a similar problem! Am I totally out of line for being so annoyed by this?? The woman that did it yesterday is a fellow coordinator. We communicate fairly consistently. I have known her since my 3rd day on the job. Get.It.Together.

One final thought...how could Bachelor Pad leave the episode like that this week. The abrupt ending made me so mad! They had been leading up to that rose ceremony then we don't get to see anyone get in the limo. Come on Bachelor Pad. That just pisses people off!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

Weekend Re-Cap and OOTD

My weekend re-cap...a day late! I had a pretty nice weekend. I picked up my bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding. I'll post pics later this week. I really like the dress. I know people say, "you can totally wear it again" and most of the time it isn't true. Well, I really do think this is a dress I can wear again. Plus, it has pockets, which is A.MAZ.ING. We've discussed my love for any dress or skirt with pockets.

I wore this outfit on Saturday.

I cut my head off...seriously I need to get my photography skills in check I'm slackin lately!

Shirt: PacSun
Shorts: Express (my bday shorts)
Shoes: Target (kids department)
Watch: Invicta
Bracelets: Mine

I got my new sunglasses in the mail...finally! I was so excited!

Another highlight of my weekend, getting my fall fashion magazines in the mail!! I CANNOT wait to dig into these babies. I started to look at the InStyle but I haven't gotten very far. I'm not trying to wish away Summer but I'm looking forward to tall boots and skinny jeans. I see a new pair of riding boots in my future.

What are your favorite things about fall? Are you planning your fall shopping trip yet? Because I definitely see a visit to the outlet mall happening very soon!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

P.S. TODAY IS MY BABY SISTER'S BIRTHDAY! HAPPY 22ND LAUREN! I hope Mr. LeRoy Brown gets you something fabulous! :)

Kim K is a wife.

Ok, I've mentioned my love for the Kardashians. I would have given anything to be at the wedding this weekend. I think it is cruel that E! is making us wait until October to see the 2 day special. But, thankfully they have been supplying us with the round the clock updates including photos and video. I want to see the dress...full length. I have yet to see the bottom of it. I'm sure dresses 2 and 3 were phenomenal also.

E! has a page similar to People Online's Royal page that is fully dedicated to Wills and Kate. People are calling this the American Royal Wedding. I mean the bridesmaids even wore ivory. So, very Pippa! The downfall...we didn't get to watch it live. Don't think I won't have a viewing party on Oct 9th and 10th though! You can see the first glimpse of the wedding video here

She looks so happy and GORGEOUS! Eonline even has a breakdown of everything you need to know here.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that is super excited about this wedding?! I have a weekend recap for you but I was so busy last night that I didn't get around to it. So, you'll have to wait until Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend! I want this week to fly by because I'm Cleveland bound again on Friday. My bestie is FINALLY returning from Poland and her European travels. I cannot wait to hear that sarcastic wit in person!

I received a postcard from Bordeaux. She used the card to tell me that the creepy couple next to her on the train were giving each other full on foot massages. Oil and Lotion! The woman had her bare feet on the floor of the train. UGH!!!! So disgusting. Typically, if this happened in America, (where she could call/text me) we would have been judging this couple together. But, sadly that was not the case! This is why I need her back!

Well, Happy Monday Dolls! And Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Humphries!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Dolls! Let's start this Friday with the Kardashians. If I could pick one family to be a part of, it would would be the Kardashians!

The Kardashian Kollection has officially been launched at Sears. I am DYING for some of their shoes. I need those knee high boots and black pumps in my closet. I have to pick up a bridesmaids dress tonight so I might have to stop by Sears on my way home!

Project Runway...another guilty pleasure. I will be watching this week's episode during my lunch break today. I love Heidi and Michael. They're designing for Nina this week and I couldn't be more excited! (Who else read about Michael getting married to his long-time partner?!?! I'm so happy for him!!)

Finally, I made my first necklace. Actually, it's my second. The first was HIDEOUS. So, this one is much better!

These are the colors of my bedroom. I love anything "beachy". I'm pretty proud of this! I think it's prettier in person.

Have a great weekend Ladies!!

I'm attempting this again. I should preface these pictures with this comment...the quality SUCKS. My camera battery died and I had no idea they were that dark and somewhat blurry. I was just trying to snap pics as fast as I could so I could put on my sweatpants. I'm gonna be real with ya ladies, I put on my sweatpants AS SOON AS I get home from work. If I could wear my over-sized Men's OU sweatpants to work, I would. If only that was socially acceptable! I love dressing up and wearing cute shoes, etc but a pair of sweatpants and a long sleeved tee are my attire when I have nothing to do. When I wore scrubs every day I would look forward to wearing something cute. Now things have flipped!

Well that was a long rant! On to my horrible pictures. I promise to post pics of the dress again the next time I wear it.

This angle is totally weird and the dress appears to be puckering. I probably should have just scraped the entire OOTD! Such a horrible picture!

Dress: Banana Republic Outlet
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: ShoeDazzle
Watch: Invicta
Bracelets: Mine

So there ya have it! I told you they were bad. I hope you're all having a great week!

OOTD and something worth sharing.

Well I originally had pictures on here of my OOTD yesterday. But, now they've disappeared. Very strange! So, I guess I'll attempt it again tomorrow.  The rest of my post is here though. I'll just leave you with that.

Just a little background info first. My sister has a friend that lost her husband in Afghanistan. She is an unbelievably strong young woman. Josh Gracin (former American Idol contestant) and Sears held the Heroes at Home National Song contest. Seana entered with the story of her husband and won. So, Josh Gracin wrote a song inspired by their story. It's called Can't Say Goodbye. The video is emotional...I'm preparing you! I cry at anything so of course I sobbed. I think knowing that she is a friend of my sister's and they're stationed at the same base makes it hit home a little bit more. I just wanted to share it with you. Honestly, if you didn't see the video you could think the song was about any number of things. He made it relatable to everyone.

I don't mean to leave on such a somber note! I know that I've been kind of grumpy lately and sometimes you just need to realize that it could be worse. Happy Wednesday Ladies!

My family makes me laugh

My dad received a text message last night. It takes Dad 20 minutes to respond to a text so it kills me when he gets them. But, I noticed his ringtone was a rap song. I died laughing. If I had to guess, I would say it's Lil Wayne. In his defense, the phone used to be my brother's. Mid tear filled laughter, I said, "your ringtone is a rap song!!!" My dad got all kinds of defensive and said, IT ISN'T MINE! This made me laugh more because I'm totally aware that it was Ty's ringtone but it kills me that he has had the phone a year and still has no idea how to change the ringtone. I LOVE my dad! haha. It was the highlight of my day. After dealing with some incompetent people yesterday, it was nice to have a really good laugh.

Since I'm on the topic of my family I thought I'd give you a little peek at the YMCA's most productive employee...

My dear brother planking some vending machines.

That's a personal trainer hard at work right there! Just planking the roof of the Y.

Those pics made me laugh so hard. My bro is a pretty funny kid but sometimes he surprises me!

I couldn't stay awake for all of Bachelor Pad last night. I saw Michael and Holly though. It broke my heart. I'll date you Michael!!

Happy Tuesday Dolls! I'm wearing my new black dress so I'll post an OOTD later this week.

The Help

Jenn and I saw The Help yesterday. I was incredibly pleased with it. They followed the book (yay!!!). I'm pretty sure I felt every emotion during those 2 1/2 hours. I cried. I laughed. I wanted to punch Hilly Holbrook in the face. If you haven't read the book but plan to see the movie, I would definitely read the book first. It was a quick read and I feel like you will go into the movie with more understanding of the characters and story.

Bryce Dallas Howard did a fantastic job playing Hilly. Props to her. And the casting of Minny Jackson was EXACTLY how I pictured it. Her attitude was awesome. I love Emma Stone and I think she did a great job portraying Skeeter and all of her awkwardness.

Jenn and I left the theater completely drained. We didn't speak the entire time. Except when I couldn't figure out who played Stuart. I knew the guys face. So, I had to IMDB him on my phone. He was in Private Practice, for any of you that were wondering!

Don't worry we did successfully smuggle Starbucks into the theater. Thank god of over sized Coach purses that are full of wallets and assorted bags for our "necessities" because they are perfect for anchoring a grande skinny caramel macchiato in your handbag! I did have a little foam spillage out of the top, thankfully there were no casualties!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Friday Favorites!

Happy Friday Ladies! I hope you all had a fabulous week! This weekend I'm going to see this with my bestie.

We both read the book and have been dying to see the movie. It will be some nice girl time! We of course plan to stop here first...

We will surely attempt to smuggle it into the theater. Girls, it's been done before! Don't put anything past us!

Ok this rocked my world yesterday. I definitely needed a late afternoon pick me up. It was so right on. I decided some late 90's boy bands would do the trick. So, the lovely Pandora hooked me up with BSB, NSYNC, 98 Degrees, BBMak, Britney, Christina, Savage Garden and Enrique. It was exactly what I needed. Let me tell you those last 2 hours flew by! I plan to enjoy some more of this today.

What is your go to music when you need a pick me up or the day is dragging?

Well, Dolls have a fab weekend. I really do plan to clean my car this time. I'm embarrassed by it! I'm also getting my hair colored because I'm looking a hot mess!

What would you do if...

Do you ever play the game, what would you do if you won the lottery? With the Powerball being so high, I feel compelled to play. I had a dream once that I won the lottery. My sister was home in my dream so I always play when she is in town. It could happen, right?! People win the lottery every day, why not me?

My dad and I love to discuss what we would do if we won. We've decided we would get on the first flight to somewhere tropical and then decide our plan from there. The sensible person in me would definitely pay off everything for my family. I would pay off my grandparents house and cars as well. They do so much for everyone else and I would give them ANYTHING they asked for. After all of that, I would have some fun! I would definitely get a hot car. Take several vacays with my girls. Shopping sprees with my besties.

The options are endless! I would also find some awesome hobby to pass the time. I would definitely donate money to charity too. There's no need to be totally selfish about it. Especially if you have that much money! Here's to hoping that we win the lottery!

Happy Thursday Loves!

Reagan and Tristan Turn 3!

Ok, these adorable babies turned 3 last week. I think they are at such a fun age. They were so excited about all of their gifts. I think they are seriously the cutest things, maybe I’m biased because they’re family. But, they are the sweetest little girls. Such delicate little voices and so well behaved. I love them! Reagan is the feisty one. Tristan is more calm and mild mannered.

They actually loved getting clothes! So adorable!

Of course Reagan would be the one to take a bite out of the cake!

Tristan double fisting it!

I mean really…does it get cuter than this?

I thought this was hilarious. The boys are exhausted and using the new balls as ottomans.

So that was the birthday party. Nothing fancy just some family fun!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

Bachelor Pad

Well the Bachelor Pad premiered Monday night. I didn’t see it all…thanks to my awesome anti-dizziness meds that made me feel high. Like over dilated eyes, jittery and moving in slow motion kind of feeling. Awesome, right?! (I am actually writing this Monday night…in the previously mentioned high state. So, bear with any nonsense that I write.) Clearly, I will not be taking these while at work which means I just have to deal until this passes. Fantastic.

Back to Bachelor Pad. What I did see, I loved. I love that the Bachelor organization puts all of these enemies and exes in the same house. It’s a recipe for drama and that makes me happy. Why else would I watch a show like Bachelor Pad?! I cannot wait to see how this pans out. I was never a Vienna fan and to be frank, I always thought Jake was kind of a tool. He’s definitely no JP or Ben.

There will be a summer full of tears and fights. Definitely some hook-ups and few broken hearts. This is going to be a.maz.ing. Last season Dave and Natalie won. Just a little tid bit of info, Dave grew up in the town next to me. Small town Ohio winning Bachelor Pad. I kind of loved it!

Who else watched last night?  I want to hear your thoughts. I’ll give my complete thoughts after I see the entire thing.

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Weekend Re-Cap

So my weekend in a nutshell…was spent in bed. I have another freaking ear infection. I used to get them all the time as a child but they haven't been bad since about Junior high. Well, in the past year I’ve had about 3 of them. I’m going to the doctor today and probably going to an ENT because I’m pretty much over this. The ear hurts but it’s the dizziness that is causing me a problem. Jess and I were convinced I had a stroke or something on Friday night. I couldn’t walk straight and couldn’t say the phrase can of tuna for the life of me. We managed to find the funny in the situation. I'm still dizzy enough that I don't feel comfortable driving all the way to work. Interstate driving when it's difficult to turn your head quickly isn't' the best idea.

On to more lighthearted and fun things. An OOTD from last week.

Top: JCrew
Tank: Forever 21
Pants: Banana Republic
Heels: Nine West
Watch: Invicta
Bracelet: JCrew (another purchase during my mid-week shopping trip last week)

I decided to go back and buy the expensive foundation at Sephora. I’m in love with it. They were having a V.I.B. event so I got a free gift! I also hit my 500 point reward so I got a free gift for that too. It was definitely a good Sephora visit.

This is the Diorskin Nude Foundation in Medium Beige. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

My 500 point reward…Bumble and Bumble shampoo/conditioner/finshing spray travel kit. I cannot wait to try this stuff!

My free gift came in this adorable little box. It was full of all kinds of goodies!!

I’m going to go ahead and say that I love the Stila coconut crush lip/cheek stain. I tried it Sunday and it looked great with my Too Faced Glamour Gloss on top of it. So far, that’s the only thing I have tried. But, I’ve wanted to try the Miracle worker Moisturizer for a while. I’m looking forward to trying that. I love NARS so I’m sure I’ll love that primer. I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts on all of these products!

Sunday, we celebrated the twins’ 3rd birthday. They are so freaking cute. I’ll post pics later this week. They deserve their own post!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
