WIWW - Mint and Sequins

I wasn't going to post anything this week because my outfits haven't been that exciting but I wore my hair down two days in a row. I wanted to prove to my lovely readers that I do actually wear my hair down...it's not always in a messy bun pony tail thing! Plus, I wore sequins yesterday and new jewelry.

Tank: Express (old)
Cardigan: Gap (last season)
Pants: Hue
Shoes: Gianni Bini
Watch: Michael Kors
Bow Ring: Forever 21
Stacked Rings: Lia Sophia
Bracelet: Gift from my mom
Necklace: Kay Jewelers (gift from my dad)

I got the stacked Lia Sophia rings this week. I really like them. I can't wear rings that are too large so they're perfect for me. The gold isn't exactly the color I hoped for but I got them half off so I can't complain too much! My mom found this bracelet in her jewelry box over the weekend and gave it to me. It fits my baby wrists very well and no longer fits her. Score!

Happy Wednesday Ladies! If I can get through today, I have a half day in the office and half day of proctoring standing between me and a FOUR DAY WEEKEND! Pure Happiness!!

Make Up Organization

I blogged about acrylic make up drawers here. I have to say, I'm still lusting after them and had I won the Powerball over the weekend I would own them. But, I'm not $600 million richer so for now I'll settle for the drawers I found at Ikea. I still want to check out The Container Store too.

The larger drawer can be found here. I couldn't find the smaller one. They had so many different sizes. It comes with 2 pieces that you lock into place on the back so you can attach the containers together. I like that they don't slide around.

I could actually use another large drawer for all of my skin care stuff. I put all of my make up on the bottom. It came with a divider which works out perfectly.

My brushes and small samples are all in the top. It's a little crowded but it works. I wouldn't mind having another one for just my brushes and other tools.

I think the two of these together cost around $15. Much better than the $120 Muji drawers I want! If I find something better I can always find something to put in these. Plus, I'm not out a lot of money. They are sturdy and hold the weight of all of my make up very well. The lid of the larger drawer does not bow under the weight of the smaller one. Overall, I would give them a good rating. Not exactly want I want but it gets the job done.

Organizing Updates

I went to Ikea a couple of weekends ago to take care of some organization problems. I don't have enough room for all of my clothes and growing jewelry collection. First world problems...I know. My dresser is an antique. Looks can be deceiving. It really doesn't hold a lot and is crammed full which gives me anxiety because everything gets wrinkled. I mean, come on...you all know I'm a little OCD!

I ended up buying this cute little dresser. There is a larger one that I'm considering buying to replace my other dresser so it all matches. The credenza in my bedroom is the same dark wood finish.

I put this together all by myself! My dad doubted my abilities. But, I was so sore the next day from squatting down for hours!

My intention was to put this next to my other jewelry so I could use my top drawer to store some of my jewelry. I shifted my jewelry box to the end of my credenza so I'm not walking all over my room to find a bracelet! I bought the drawer organizers at Ikea as well to do this. I bought the small teal set as well but I can't find them online.

I also put my perfume in here because I had extra room. Of course, I had to take the top off of my Marc Jacobs Lola because it is the largest and most obnoxious perfume topper of all time. You can see my MK leg shine and leather protector and cleaner for my handbags in the back.

I finally got a new mirror and I absolutely love it! It was only $40. It's really solid and has the ability to be mounted. Of course, it matches my other stuff! Even the picture frame to the right matches. :)

I reorganized my make up as well. But, we'll get to that tomorrow!

Friday's Letters

I'm linking up with Ashley at The Sweet Season today! It's been a while since I've done one of these.

Dear Braxton, you have been a royal pain this week. How are you able to open closet doors now? It's mind boggling. But, you managed to unwind the cord to the vacuum and pull out my exercise bands. Just when I want to banish you to the basement, you do cute things like this and make me laugh hysterically.

Dear Rain, you can go away now. We're done with you for a while. I would like a nice 80 degree day so I can sit on the deck and sun myself.

Dear Birthday, you are officially less than 2 months away. I don't think I'm ready for 30. I'm panicking slightly. Is there anyway you can just hold off for a little while?

Dear Work, 3 years ago today was my first day. Some days I feel like I have been here 10 years. Others, I feel like I just started. We've come a long way!

Dear Jenn, you're kind of like superwoman. Life has been throwing you grenades lately and you are handling it with class and grace. I won't say it's easy but we'll continue to have weekly vent session at Fiesta with bottomless margaritas and chips and cheese until it passes. Love your face buttercup!!

Have a great weekend Dolls! I'm so ready for a few days off and short week next week. I'm giving myself a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day. Cue the angels because I have never needed a break more!

Saw It, Pinned It, Did It - Avocado and Egg Breakfast

I made this a couple of weeks ago and it has become one of my favorites. I originally pinned this recipe and then I saw Caitlin @ Southern Curls & Pearls posted this recipe. So, I decided to give it a shot.

Ingredients:
1 Avocado
2 Eggs
Sea Salt
Pepper
Desired Topping (salsa, Frank's, bacon, etc.)

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit.
3. Hallow out the avocado by making the hole from the pit larger. I found that I needed to make it pretty large because my egg was overflowing. So, depending on the size of your eggs, you will need to hallow it out quite a bit.
4. Crack an egg into each half of the avocado.Top with sea salt and pepper.
5. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Add your desired topping. I used my favorite salsa and it was DELICIOUS!!

The avocado becomes incredibly creamy which is a great combination with the warm egg. I loved the added spice from my salsa.

This is a super simple recipe that is healthy and filling. I highly recommend it!

WIWW - Apparently I Live In My Black Hue Pants

How is it that the only days I take pictures of my outfits are days that my hair is in a ponytail. I swear I wear my hair down more than this little blog shows!

Alright ladies, I don't have a lot to say today. I injured my shoulder running...yes I know, such an odd injury. I've had it put back in alignment twice in a week and now I'm on muscle relaxers. I won't lie...muscle relaxers don't suck! I'm afraid if I write too much I won't remember it or will regret it in the morning! :)

WIWW - Skirts Without Tights

I have officially put my tights away for the year. Cue the angels! Such a happy time. Now I need a little tan on these legs because this is PALE for me. My olive skin tone prefers a nice bronze.

Shirt: New York and Co.
Cardigan: J Crew Jackie
Necklace: J Crew Factory
Earrings: Target
Shoes: Shoe Carnival (old)

Top: Bar III (Macy's) - I couldn't find it online
Skirt: J Crew No. 2 Pencil
Shoes: Christian Siriano (Payless)
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: Marc Jacobs

I have the St. Tropez One Night Only bronzing lotion (here) on my legs in the last outfit. It definitely gave me a little extra color. I'm pretty much obsessed with the pencil skirt and Bar III top. Just wondering how long I have to wait to wear it again!! Bar III commented on the Instagram pic and it pretty much made my day!

Have a great Wednesday Ladies!
